French Toast Brunch

Meet Elisha.....

She is one of my dearest friends here in Montana,
so when her birthday was approaching I knew I wanted to do something special.

My friend Sara and I decided we should have a "French Toast Brunch" because
Elisha loves french toast and it's one of her birthday traditions.

The wonderful and talented Kelli Trontel took GORGEOUS pictures for us.

This is one of my favorite parties I've done....

We decided to gut my living room and turn it into a dinning room.
I made a simple doily garland and hung it over the table.
and printed Happy Birthday banner from Ruffled and strung it in the window.
For the tablecloth I placed random fabrics on top of a white tablecloth to form runners.

The place settings consisted of layered paper plates/napkin and oranges with a name tag.
We also made one of a kind mustache cups simply by purchasing glasses at the thrift store
and painting them with glass paint.
Coffee pots were placed on the table and used for vases.

For brunch we ate... french toast!
Sara made french toast dippers and bacon.

Homemade syrups.... AMAZING!




Plenty of toppings.

Mini doughnuts.

Chocolate covered bacon... don't knock it, till you've tried it.
YUM.

"Eggs & Bacon"
Pretzel sticks with melted white chocolate and a yellow m&m.

Coffee.

For party favors I made french toast cupcakes with maple frosting topped with "bacon & eggs".

They were placed in a craft box and tied with twine. 

As usual it was a wonderful time with wonderful friends.

Dessert Table

I threw a little dessert table together 

at a friends house a few weeks back. 

I decided to go with a  black & white color pallet

with pops of granny smith green 

(not sure if that's the technical color, but I like calling it that ;)

I made chocolate bowls inspired by One Charming Party

and filled them with fruit salad. 

Simple chocolate cupcakes with almond frosting.

Sara and Elisha made delicious apple pies.

My favorite part was the backdrop. 

I tied pages of scrapbook paper together with yarn 

to make a sort of paper quilt. 

We also had green apples in cups with chocolate, carmel and peanut butter. 

Pretty and delicious, 

win - win!

A Vintage Picnic

As I mentioned in my previous post some friends got 
together to throw a baby shower for Sara. 
Tiff and I were in charge of food and 
since it was a "vintage picnic" theme 
we decided to provide a picnic-ish dinner.

The food/drink table.

We kept the drinks simple with pink lemonade, 
sweet tea and water.

For dessert we had Pie in a jar 
(see previous post for all the DELISH details).
Preggers with her pie! 

I ADORE vintage cameras and have a variety 
of them in my house
(this one is was my parents and I remember taking pictures with it when I was a kid).

I purchased the picnic basket on clearance 
at Target for about $3.

What can I say, I'm a BARGAIN shopper.

There was a choice of chicken salad sandwich or egg salad sandwich 
and both included a clementine and SWEET potato chips.

Sandwiches wrapped in wax paper and tied with raffia.

VERY cute and EASY.

Alaina made this LOVELY garland out of 
fabric scraps and twine.

SO CUTE!

Sara's going to use them for the baby's room.

An old window where the gifts went.

"Picnic blankets" were placed on the floor, 

so we could eat picnic style! 

A wonderful picnic with friends and a SASSY Sara.

For months I've been purchasing mason jars 
(mainly at thrift stores and garage sales for super cheap) 
and I finally used them as drinking glasses at the party. 
I wrapped a small piece of bakers twine from The Twinery
and placed a white straw in each jar

(purchased at Target around the 4th of July for a $1).
ATLAS mason is my new FAVE!!!

Seriously.

I tell you my GREAT deals, so you hopefully get inspired to keep your eyes open for these fun items at GREAT prices.

Some other friends were in charge of the party favors.

They placed gerber daisys in a mason jar (YAY), 
then filled it with ...

... M&Ms (yummmm).

It was a super fun evening honoring Sara and 
I was so blessed to be a part of it!

Keep Calm and Cruise On

My friend Crystal asked me to bake cupcakes for her birthday (yay). The plan was for everyone to meet at a local park for breakfast burritos made by Chef B. Ray (her husband), go for a bike ride and then come back for cupcakes.

All was going according to plan until my fantastic bike (a cruiser purchased from Walmart) decided to poop-out on me. sad panda. So, I rode/rolled/walked back to my mom (who was visiting from Wisconsin) and we set up the dessert area.

It's hard to be mad at my bike when it's so darn cute!!

I LOVE table settings (or truck setting in this case), birthday parties and obviously cupcakes. So, as much as I was bummed to miss the bike ride, I had fun decorating with mom.

Let me take a minute to say that my mother is WONDERFUL and she never ceases to amaze me. She lives in a church... seriously. Check out her blog.

We used a pink/orange color pallet (Crystal's fave) and mom made the flower arrangement inside a pumpkin. We got the pumpkin and flowers from my friend Linda's garden (it's breathtaking).

I made Straw-Berried Treasure Cupcakes (recipe here) and they were deeeee-lish! I added a small dusting of pink and orange sugar to the top and a little cupcake topper that said "Keep Calm and Cruise On".

After some pictures we all sang, ate cupcakes and hung out. It was a great way to spend the morning. Oh and the fantastic aqua truck is Brian and Crystal's and I'm in LOVE with it!
